ILLUMI RUN returns for its fourth year of neon revelry

Returning for its fourth edition of neon-fuelled splendour, ILLUMI RUN is back this year at the new location of Sentosa’s Palawan Green. Participants of the night run best be prepared to get wet and colourful as they’re doused in neon-coloured water on tropical sands on December 17.

While many fun runs stack their music and entertainment segments at the tail end of the event when runners are catching their breath or already losing steam, ILLUMI RUN treats its route as a party in its own right, before the after-party even kicks off. Equipping runners with a ‘splash-out’ shirt, foam stick, goggles and more to get wet and wild and embrace the festive glow, participants will run and/or dance through five distinctly themed ‘ILLUMI Glow Zones’, in which neon water is splashed to create a neon spectacle under the zone’s ultraviolet lights. And if you manage to make it through the Glow Zones without a spot on your white tee, ‘Illuminators’ are armed with buckets and super-soakers to make sure you’re drenched in glowing brilliance by the time you reach the finish line. The glow water is water-based, non-toxic and completely washable from the skin, so there’s no excuse not to have a splash.

The fun continues once runners complete the run with a massive beach after-party that brings everyone together in colour-filled celebration. Coupling explosive DJ sets with fiery pyrotechnic displays, this year’s post-party will see the return of ILLUMI RUN favourites, DJ TINC and Rave Republic, as well as Taiwanese DJ Cookie, who has been named ‘No. 1 Female DJ’ by Taipei Times and shared the stage with the likes of Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta, to light up the night with luminescent flair.

Fun runs tend to be hot and sweaty affairs, so you may as well hit the trail in vibrant colour when it’s time to get a little wet.
