SKECHERS SUNDOWN FESTIVAL 2015

SKECHERS SUNDOWN FESTIVAL 2015

Back for its seventh year, Skechers is tying up with the Sundown Festival to bring you the best musical acts from all across Asia. Held at the Marina Promenade area, the festival will feature regional bands from Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, thereby promising that you’ll have a rockin’ good evenin’ watching your favourite acts jam out on stage.

Hailing from Thailand, Potato plays to a ditty pop-rock beat. With their latest single “Somdul”, which means ‘fulfill’, Potato ranks as one of the most popular bands to play the airwaves back home, having garnered radio plays and awards aplenty. Jumping over to Japan, INKT is known for its rock repertoire that occasionally sees the band trot out a softer ballad in the mix. Racy drumbeats and soaring vocals make up most of their tracks, as the five-piece band brings a track list comprising of songs from their debut album lunched last November, and their mini album launched in April this year.

Speaking of Japanese music, J-Rocks is an Indonesian band that comes to us with a sound that is heavily influenced by – you guessed it – Japanese styled rock music. Forming the band in 2003, the boys got their break a year later, and have since grown their fanbase in steady fashion before winning the title of best performer at the largest music festival in Indonesia, Soundrenaline 2008. Reppin’ our proud local music scene is Caracal, whose post-hardcore sound has tacked them up as being one of Singapore’s most luminary bands around. Their most recent release came in the form of their full-length sophomore album titled Welcome the Ironist, which was widely lauded for its chaotic energy. Other fringe acts to catch include Ground Zero (Taiwan), Farrago (Singapore), Cheryl Loon (Singapore) and Cashew Chemists (Singapore).

With these promising names on the roster, you’ll want to make sure your soles are shod in the most comfortable of footwear. Take a trip down to Skechers and get yourself sorted with a pair of kicks that’ll last you the evening. Skechers, after all, is no stranger to the music scene, having had a long history of working together with global artists such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Currently, the brand’s roster of ambassadors include Demi Lovato, Ringo Star and K-Pop girl group SISTAR.

The Skechers Sundown Festival rocks our waters on November 21 from 4pm till late at Marina Promenda, F1 Pit Area. Tickets are available at $88 for General Admission passes and $118 for the Mosh Pit.
