Grace Coddington And Commes des Garçons Team Up For A Rosy Affair

What does the name Grace Coddington bring to mind? The legendary former American Vogue creative director is known for many things: dramatic and elaborate photoshoots, bright red hair that will not be tamed, and even her whimsical feline doodles. This year, she adds one more to the list with her first fragrance, Grace by Grace Coddington.

The collaboration with Commes des Garçons marks the tenth perfume in the brand’s personality-driven series, which has crafted aromas for creative figures such as Pharrell Williams and Daphne Guinness. To create a perfume that truly embodies her, Coddington channels her fondness of rosy fragrances and brings to life her unique take on the classic scent.

“I’ve always loved the smell of roses and the first fragrance I ever wore was rose water. Over time, I’ve experimented with everyone else’s version of Rose, and even got sidetracked by some others along the way. Now I’ve arrived back at the point I first started, with Rose. Except this time, it’s my Rose,” she said.

Grace by Grace Coddington is a musky concoction of Moroccan rose, freesia and peach blossom, mingled with mint, basil and bergamot notes, and ending with white musk and amber. Staying true to her unwavering love for cats, the simple glass bottle is topped with a silver cat inspired by her famous drawings.
