Riding on the success of last year’s Snapshots of Heritage photography competition and exhibition, Capitol Piazza, together with official photography partner OurShutterJourney, is once again calling upon photographers of all ages and experience to capture Singapore in the Snapshots of a Little Red Dot.
Engaging young creatives to utilise the medium of photography, amateurs, professionals and hobbyists alike are invited to interpret the “Little Red Dot” as a visual metaphor. Framed in Capitol Piazza’s once historic, now contemporary-chic space, the competition and exhibition seeks to strike a conversation on an evolving nation and its expanding patchwork of memories. As with last year’s exhibition, finalists’ photos can run the gamut from the seemingly insignificant and unnoticed pleasures of daily life in Singapore, to the towering architectural marvels and natural wonders that shape our geography. The challengingly broad, yet locally specific theme of our island-state celebrates the duality of diversity and shared experience – one that eagerly awaits your contribution.
Capture your version of iconic Singaporean imagery or reflect your vision of the Little Red Dot through your viewfinder and submit your entry by Tuesday, June 20 to stand a chance to win a number of attractive prizes, including a first place prize consisting of an Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II camera and $2,000 in cash. What might be just a little dot on the map to the world, could be the world for you.
Winning and selected entries will be featured in the subsequent Snapshots of a Little Red Dot exhibition at Capitol Theatre from July 30 to August 8, 2017.
