Last year, Singapore, a small island state with a population of 5.6 million, consumed more energy per capita than the whole of Australia, with its population of 24.4 million. While these statistics sound alarming, there’s no indication of Singapore slowing down anytime soon, with more malls, condos and cars filling up our crowded little home. To help lessen the load this month, W Singapore – Sentosa Cove is pitching in during Earth Hour on March 25 by making WOOBAR a sustainable source of revelry with the energy-conscious event, SIP. SPIN. REPEAT.
Powering down all non-essential lighting from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, energy will be generated by bicycles housed within WOOBAR to keep the party going (think of it as a high-octane spin class, only elevated to the luxurious confines of a cocktail bar). While you’ll be getting a workout to deserve a treat of light bites and lip-smacking 1-for-1 Harry’s Tokyo cocktails, guests will also have control over the flow of music for the hour, where bicycles will be hooked up to a DJ console in collaboration with International Bicycle Film Festival Singapore, an international phenomenon that has urban cycling culture at its core.
In addition to rewarding yourself with craft cocktails after a solid session of cardio, the evening will also include an auction for a one-night stay at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and a dinner for four at the kitchen table. Ten per cent of the proceeds from the night will go to WWF Singapore in support of Earth Hour 2017, while proceeds from the auction will go to supporting International Bicycle Film Festival Singapore. A workout, tasty tipples and an excitement-filled auction, all for a good cause.
SIP. SPIN. REPEAT. puts the party in motion on March 25 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm at WOOBAR, W Singapore – Sentosa Cove. For more info, visit wsingaporesentosacove.com/earthhour.
