While the recent release of the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has a wave of fans proudly waving the rebel flag, fine art and design purveyors World’s End are affecting a disruption in The Force by celebrating the demise of the Old Republic and the rise of the evil Galactic Empire. Collaborating with artists from Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia and Australia, Death To The Republic II marks the gallery’s second collection inspired by the Star Wars universe and revisits the Sith’s triumph over the rat-tailed Jedi and pesky Rebel scum.
Launched this Star Wars Day (May The Fourth be with you all), the collection sees eleven unique interpretations in the form of prints and sculptures that harken back to ‘The Orig. Trig.’. From the black metal aesthetic of Rotworks’ Emperor Palpatine to Mirfak Prabowo’s Predator-leaning Storm Trooper and Darth Vader busts, the series also features jaw-droppingly accurate life-size sculptures of Vader’s melted helmet by Hsin Ho that would certainly earn an, “Impressive. Most impressive,” from the Sith Lord himself.
While you wait in anticipation for the Rebel Alliance to hit the big screen later this year, “Give yourself to the Dark Side”.
