DJs and producers are no strangers to working on the fly, but few hotels appear as conducive to knuckling down and making musical magic as Potato Head Family’s Katamama hotel in Bali. Kicking off a new initiative to spur creativity amongst the enchanting scenery on the ‘Island of the Gods’, Disclosure‘s Guy Lawrence is the first guest to be invited to showcase the Katamama Suite’s music-minded abode for the Creator Series.
Filmed during Disclosure’s stay in Bali in-between a number of secret shows at Potato Head Beach Club, the first video instalment of the series sees Lawrence making full use of the room’s amenities, which include a mammoth studio monitors and turntable, while crafting music over a fresh coffee, before performing a secret set at the Katamama’s rooftop garden.
When asked if he has made any new music during his stay while soaking up the island’s offerings, Lawrence answers, “I’ve made a few things whilst I’ve been here. A few ideas, nothing really for any purpose; just making music for fun – as it should be. No project in mind, just letting it come out.”
