As brands continue to bank on Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations with canine-themed festive collections, Dr. Martens now joins the club with a more subtle offering to usher in the zodiac calendar. Presenting its 1460 8-eye boot in a limited Year of the Dog edition, the iconic British subculture staple undergoes subtle, but no less luxe, embellishments.
Featuring a gold foil dog motif printed on the tongue, the 1460’s smooth black leather presents an understated take on the typically opulent approach to CNY attire. Standing in stark contrast to the loud, laser-etched quarters of Dr. Martens’ Year of the Rooster edition, this year the 1460 sees subtle changes in its red and gold stitching, heel loop and gold foil logo on the footbed. This boot’s got more bite than bark.
Available at Dr. Martens stores from February.
