After a phenomenal year which saw the release of her debut album, heavy rotation of her summer hit with Sean Paul, “No Lie”, and the UK chart-topping single “New Rules” (one billion views and counting), British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa is set to make her way back to Singapore on May 4, 2018.
Having stopped by our neck of the woods last year to promote her self-titled debut LP and perform a private showcase, the 22-year-old siren is opening it up to the fans with what can only be a stellar show at Esplanade Theatre. Having drastically evolved musically since her 2015 debut single “New Love” and an ensuing meteoric rise, Lipa – who was born in London and spent her youth in Kosovo – has not only raked in award nominations and praise, but also given back through her charity, Sunny Hill Foundation, which supports Kosovan communities.
Speaking with us about her cross-cultural upbringing and the influences that led to her decision to pursue music full-time, Lipa shared why going to university simply wasn’t in the stars – and at this point, who can disagree? Watch our video above to hear it from the star herself.
Dua Lipa performs in Singapore on Friday May 4, 2018 at Esplanade Theatre. Tickets from SGD 88, on sale from February 22, 10am for Live Nation members, and from February 26, 10am for the public, at livenation.asia.
