Here we take a look at the music festivals that rocked the world in 2017. Apart from the actual musical lineup, there are several other factors that makes a music festival great. Date, location, logistics, safety, budget and people are just some of the other knick-knacks ravers will consider when booking a trip.
With those in mind, we have picked out the best ones – rounding up the top five Music Festivals of the Year. In ascending order…
#5: Rolling Loud
Rolling Loud was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Future, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky and Migos – making this the ultimate rap showcase of the year. Lit up trees, stunning backdrops and Kung Fu Kenny’s masterclass were just some of the memorable moments from the weekend at Biscayne Boulevard.
#4: Governors Ball
What stood out for Governors Ball was its impeccable sound system which made sure that party-goers got their moneys worth in New York. The star-studded lineup was loaded with big guns Lorde, Childish Gambino, and Phoenix among others. Even ‘90s kids were lullabied by Air and Tool, but what made the festival was Marshmello’s unveiling of “Mini Mello”.
King Kendrick stole the show at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California – hands down. Why because the good lad actually prepared an album just for Coachella and when you put in such an effort for a global audience, you deserve a multi-diamond-studded crown served on a 24-karat platter. We’re already looking forward to 2018 where Beyonce is set to take the stage!
Glastonbury had an epic lineup – believe us when we say epic because the ladies will vouch that anything with Ed Sheeran is riding into the sunset packed with gold – but it was the unexpected fine weather that made the United Kingdom hot. Mud was taken out of the equation and fans were left clean & dry. But what took the cake was Katy Perry’s pink-bodysuit stage dive.
Universally regarded as the best music festival amongst all the other major players. Simply put, lineups don’t lie. Also, Primavera is the one festival that Radiohead are most willing to play. Barcelona wins – AGAIN!
