This is a happy collision of worlds. Back in February this year, Singapore’s reigning pop lightning rod The Sam Willows released two contrasting singles into the ether. “Robot”, the simmering slow-burner of an against-the-odds empowerment anthem and the glorious, triumphant, hater-spurning manifesto “Papa Money” cast the four-piece as basking in a newfound creative vitality. Now, KoFlow, one of Singapore hip-hop’s foremost ambassadors, has lent his uplifting touch to the latter.
Future bass is the move here and this new version elevates and amplifies the charms of the original. The pulse beats harder and the colours beam brighter in many dazzling hues.
