YonYon and Taichi Mukai paired up for the recently dropped melancholic duet, “Period”, produced by Slom for The Link project. YonYon, along with Japanese R&B singer, Taichi Mukai co-wrote the ballad in Korean, English and Japanese lyrics, reflecting a double-sided perspective of a passionate couple who aches for each other, despite the conflicts in the relationship. YonYon and Taichi echo vulnerability in their melodic voices, perfectly complementing each other in a wistful yearning for romance that’s in line with the hurt that comes along with it.
As an active DJ and party promoter in both Seoul and Tokyo, YonYon delves into the music culture by organising concerts, contributing to a culture webzine and often appear on a Japanese radio show where she promotes Korean artists.
The Link project, formed by three musicians, including YonYon focuses on merging artists from Japan to Korea together. The project is presented in two seasons. The first season will feature Japanese singers with Korean producers, whilst the second season will see the roles swapped.
