After selling out tickets for his debut performance in Singapore on the day of sale, fans of British singer-songwriter Sam Smith who missed out will be glad to know that, in this case, it’s not “winner takes it all” as Smith crooned for the theme song of Spectre. In response to overwhelming demand, show organisers Unusual Entertainment and Midas Promotions have announced Smith’s second Singapore show for The Thrill of it All Tour on October 3, 2018 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Tickets for the second show are due to go on sale on Tuesday, 8 May 10am via Sports Hub Tix. With the lightning speed at which the first show tickets were snapped up, you’re going to want to set your alarms nice and early so you didn’t miss Smith in all his glory.
Having first dominated the hearts of listeners with his feature on Disclosure’s “Latch”, Smith found commercial and critical success with his debut album, In the Lonely Hour, topping both the US and UK Billboard charts in 2014 with emotionally powerful singles like “Lay Me Down” and “Stay With Me”, before going on to win four Grammy awards the following year.
Receiving the honour of writing the theme song for the James Bond film Spectre in 2015, “Writing’s on the Wall” became the first Bond theme to reach number one in the UK and scored Smith an Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ in 2016. Returning with the 2017 second full-length record, The Thrill of it All, to critical acclaim, the singer’s powerful compositions continue to shake up Western manufactured pop milieu through sheer emotion and soul.
