It wasn’t too long ago that homegrown quartet The Sam Willows treated us with “Keep Me Jealous”. Now they are doing just that (keeping us jealous) with another drop titled “Save Myself”. The track is co-produced with Harry Sommerdahl and shines light on the little frills, that could straight up speak to people.
So if you’re feeling down – be it from work or relationships – The Sam Willows wrote this song to provide a buoyant voice that aspires to instil comfort. Even if there are touchy issues that are “too personal” to illustrate, the band has you covered with the track which is essentially a cry for help – “Somebody save me, cause I can’t save myself” is the highlight of the chorus.
“The song talks about how we’re usually the worst lovers to ourselves – we don’t know how to love or save ourselves till it’s too late,” founding member Benjamin Kheng explained. “It’s kind of a call for help and admission, to reach out before you’re a total gone case.”
