With soul songstress Ms. Lauryn Hill leading the way for this year’s edition of SING JAZZ 2018, the festival is still going strong with line-up additions before it jazzes up Marina Bay Sands next month, with French avant-garde artist Sébastien Tellier, Brazilian guitar virtuoso Paulinho Garcia, Dutch trance hero Ferry Corsten and Welsh house DJ Sasha bringing an even wider spectrum of sound to the three-night event.
Firing up the main stage on April 6, Tellier’s artful, electronic interpretations of jazz, soul and funk will see a sense of bizarre fun enliven the Marina. A critically acclaimed figure in French music who has worked with the likes of Daft Punk, MGMT and most recently writing and composing Dita Von Teese’s debut album, Tellier’s live act is not be missed. Joined by Paulinho Garcia and an eclectic range of main stage acts, the festivities continue after dark with Sasha and Ferry Corsten taking the party into electronic territory.
From April 6 to 8 at Marina Bay Sands, festival-goers will be treated to a diversity of sound, with artists including Grammy award-winning soul singer Lalah Hathaway (daughter of the legendary Donny Hathaway), jazz-pop maestro Jamie Cullum (who still holds the title for best cover of Radiohead’s “High & Dry”) and chill trap aficionado Parov Stelar, among many more.
SING JAZZ 2018 takes place from April 6 to 8 at Marina Bay Sands. Tickets on sale from February 1, 12pm. For ticketing and more information, visit sing-jazz.com.
