Joe Flizzow is a boss and the visual for his latest Malay single “Sampai Jadi” is a magnificent testimony of that. Produced by Joe and SonaOne and featuring Alif, the track itself is a shrouded nocturnal banger with a speaker-stretching bass rumble. And the newly unveiled music video elevates its menacing thrust with dashing mob iconography. Credit must be given to director Zulamran Hilmi for turning in an incredibly compelling visual element to the song.
Shot in emphatic black and white, much of the action unfolds in a room wherein Joe sits on a throne at the head of a long table, whose flanks are occupied by several ski-masked men. Over the raps, they toast and converse.
Alif, who co-wrote the song with Joe and provides the sung, R&B counterpoint to the latter’s bullet-hard delivery, is likewise swagged-out. All things considered, sonically and visually, “Sampai Jadi” is a brilliant, undeniable display of boss music.
